At Last! After a process beginning in faith and hope and continuing for ten years our new(!) pipe organ came to life under the fingers of organist Janie Spitznagel. How amazing it was to once again hear the sound of an organ resonating through our sanctuary. Along with the fire and the flood the story of our organ is a seminal part of our church history and is instrumental (pardon the pun!) in defining our parish as one of faith and resilience. We are looking toward a dedicatory recital where we can properly recognize and honor Jim Miller and Wesley and Randy and Alex and all those who contributed to the birth (and it is a birth) of this wonderful instrument that will take its place as one of the most beautiful in our community!
Take a look at this beautiful banner that was displayed last Sunday for our Pentecost service. By a bit of serendipity Carol and Max invited Patty Simmonds and her husband Ed to worship yesterday. Patty had attended St. Paul’s several years ago and we were amazed to discover that the banner was created for Patty’s mother Gerri!
The designer was Suzanne Johnson and the year was 1984. Patty and Ed, it was wonderful to have you join us in worship and may the Pentecost banner serve as a reminder that as members of the Body of Christ the Holy Spirit binds us together in ways we can’t imagine!
